At a training center, the group, schedule and monthly payment are linked in one chain; at an accounting firm, the client, task and hours are. Project and time tracking is covered on the main services page. Parts such as student attendance and grades are not mentioned in the Odoo documentation, and we say so openly.
Projects, hours and service for a general service company are covered on a separate page. A training center and an accounting firm are covered on this page, below, because of their specifics.
Projects, tasks, invoicing by hours, service center and SLA. For consulting firms, agencies and service companies. Services page →
Groups and schedule, teacher and room occupancy, monthly payment, online course. The boundary of student records is stated openly. Below, on this page →
Client, task, reporting deadline, hours and profitability. The Accounting Firm industry package and its limits. Below, on this page →
Which apps you need is determined at the diagnostic. Appointments, Planning, Subscriptions, Sign and Documents are part of Enterprise (they are not in the open-source code repository).
Course, lesson, test and certificate form; access: open, by invitation or by payment.
Booking by teacher or room (resource); capacity is set for the resource.
Teacher, room and staff workload in a single schedule.
Recurring invoice for monthly tuition or an ongoing service.
Client file, task, deadline, workload; recurring task.
Billable hours and profitability; in Odoo 20, a target vs. actual hours dashboard.
Training contract, service contract, consent. An ERI key is not mentioned in the documentation.
Collecting documents from the client, work file, contract archive.
Invoice, matching payment to the bank statement line, analytic accounting by project.
At a training center, money and time come together in one place: the group, teacher, room, schedule and monthly payment. In Odoo, the schedule and payment parts of this chain exist in ready-made apps. Teachers and rooms are recorded as resources: Planning manages shifts, while Appointments manages booking and resource capacity. Courses and monthly payments live in Sales and Subscriptions: a recurring invoice is issued on a weekly, monthly or yearly schedule, and an unpaid subscription can be set to close automatically after a set date. The contract and consent are signed through Sign.
eLearning covers the online part. A course has lessons, tests and a certificate (built on Surveys); there are three access policies: open, by invitation or paid. One course can be set as a recommended prerequisite for another. The Odoo 20 release notes say customers can see their own courses in the portal.
Odoo S.A. publishes three packages close to education: eLearning Platform (building and selling online courses), Driving School (lesson schedule, instructor shifts, vehicles, online booking, contract signature) and DIY Workshops (workshop sessions, membership). All three require Enterprise and are listed as available on Odoo Online, Odoo.sh and on your own server. A package for a language school, tutoring, a vocational training center or a private school did not appear in the Odoo industry catalog (as of 25 October 2026). The Student Organization package is for a student club.
An honest limit: Odoo's documentation does not describe a student register, a group list, an attendance log or a grade book. The Attendances app in Odoo is for employees. There are three routes: student and group records built in Studio (fields, list, roles); registration and the front desk in the Events app (whether it fits a weekly group schedule is checked in a test database); or an external learning system with data exchange. If the students are children, the invoice is issued to a parent or guardian as a separate contact.
In an accounting firm the unit of work is the client and the engagement. Odoo S.A. publishes the Accounting Firm package. It connects CRM and Sales (quotation), Contacts (client directory), Sign, Project (client file, engagement, team workload), Timesheets (billable hours and profitability), Accounting (the firm's own invoices) and Documents (collecting documents from the client). Additional apps: Equity (ownership structure and ultimate beneficial owner, UBO) and Databases (access to clients' Odoo databases from one panel). The package adds tags to a contact for identity documents and for anti-money-laundering (AML), and shows engagement details on the client card. The Odoo 20 release notes say the package was updated in these areas. The package requires Enterprise and is available on Online, Odoo.sh and your own server; it relies on Studio.
For audit work, Odoo's own Audit & Certification page shows a website form, CRM, a meeting, an on-site audit task and a custom worksheet; it was not confirmed in the Apps Store as a separate package.
Deadline control is the main risk for an accounting firm. Project has a recurring task, but according to the documentation the next task is created only after the previous one is marked “Done” or “Canceled”, not on a fixed calendar date. For fixed deadlines such as tax reporting, a client-engagement schedule and a scheduled action are designed separately in the diagnostic. Where the client's books are kept (the client's Odoo database, the firm's database or another program) is also an architecture decision.
The chain of schedule, payment, hours and engagement exists in ready-made apps. Student records, fixed reporting deadlines and government systems are separate work. The information comes from the Odoo 19 and 20 documentation, release notes and package pages; if your version differs, we check it in the diagnostic.
| Goal | In standard Odoo | Extra work (BUline) |
|---|---|---|
| Teacher and room schedule | Available: Planning and Appointments (Enterprise); resource capacity | Schedule templates, booking rules, roles |
| Monthly tuition, recurring invoices | Available: Subscriptions (weekly, monthly and yearly period), automatic closing | Plan structure, procedure for handling debt |
| Online course, test, certificate | Available: eLearning and Surveys; access policy, recommended prerequisite course | Course structure, local payment method |
| Student register, group list, attendance, grades | Not described in the documentation; the Attendances app is for employees | Studio records, using Events, or an external system; assessed |
| Document and contract signature | Available: Sign (electronic signature); the ERI key is not mentioned in the documentation | Which documents this is enough for is confirmed with a lawyer |
| Client directory, engagement, hours, profitability | Available: Contacts, Project, Timesheets; Accounting Firm package (Enterprise) | Engagement templates, roles, separating billable hours |
| Fixed reporting deadlines | Partial: a recurring task is created after the previous one is closed | Deadline schedule and scheduled action; assessed |
| AML control and client due diligence | The package has a contact tag and a document field | The process (check log, report) is built separately |
| Electronic invoicing and government information systems | Not mentioned in the Uzbekistan localization documentation; the Apps Store has third-party e-Faktura modules | Connection to the operator's system is assessed. Electronic documents and taxes |
The items below were checked against official sources. Rules change often: on the day of the decision we reopen the current version and confirm it in writing with a lawyer.
Each connection is assessed and built separately. We do not promise that a “ready-made connector exists.”
Reports are not copied into a separate spreadsheet: they are generated from documents in this same database.
The stages follow the general BUline Method. The timeline is agreed in writing after the diagnostic. Implementation process →
We study course and service types, group structure, the flow of clients and engagements, the payment procedure, and the license or notification status. We define how student attendance and client deadlines will be kept. Result: a business requirements document (BRD).
We confirm the set of apps or the industry package, the route for student and group records (Studio, Events or an external system), subscription plans, roles and the hosting type.
First, one group or one client goes through from start to finish: enrollment, schedule or engagement, payment, invoice, report. Then the remaining directions and integrations.
The front desk, teacher, curriculum specialist, cashier, accountant and manager are trained by role. Practice uses your own list of courses and clients. Instructions and video lessons are provided.
30 days of enhanced support after launch, then ongoing support on agreed terms. When the rules change, the settings are rechecked.
This list speeds up the diagnostic. We can start even if not everything is ready.
| Mistake | Consequence | How we prevent it |
|---|---|---|
| Expecting student attendance and grades to be ready in Odoo | At the end of the project it turns out there is no attendance log | Choose the route for student records in the diagnostic and agree it in writing |
| Issuing the monthly payment manually as an ordinary invoice | Debt and renewals are not tracked | Subscriptions plan and automatic closing rule |
| Relying on a recurring task for a fixed reporting deadline | If the previous task is not closed, a new one is not created | Deadline schedule and scheduled action |
| Logging billable and internal hours in one project | Client profitability gets distorted | Separate them into different projects |
| Keeping client documents in a shared folder | Risk to confidentiality and audit secrecy | Access rights in Documents by client: access rights |
There are three packages close to education: eLearning Platform, Driving School and DIY Workshops. A package for a language school, tutoring, vocational training or a private school did not appear in the Odoo industry catalog. Such a center is assembled from Planning, Appointments, Subscriptions and eLearning; student records are solved separately.
The documentation does not describe a student register, an attendance log or a grade book. The routes are: student and group records in Studio, registration in the Events app, or an external learning system. We show in a test database which one fits.
Yes. In Subscriptions the plan is set up with a weekly, monthly or yearly period (ready-made plans: monthly and yearly), the invoice is issued automatically, and an unpaid subscription can be closed after a set day. A daily period is not used. Subscriptions is part of Enterprise.
Under the Law on Education, non-state educational organizations operate on the basis of a license or a notification. Odoo does not decide which one applies to you: we clarify it with the ministry in writing, and in Odoo we keep the required documents and data ready.
The Accounting Firm industry package (Enterprise) connects the client directory, engagements, hours, Sign, Documents and the AML tag. Tax return forms and an electronic invoice connection are not part of it. The package's scope is checked in a test database.
Access rights are granted by client and engagement, a change trail is kept, and testing runs on a neutralized database. Confidentiality in accounting and audit is set by law, so the role table is approved at the start of the project. Audit log
Industry packages are available on Odoo Online, but Online is not compatible with third-party and custom modules. If a connection to a government system or an external learning system is needed, Odoo.sh or your own server is chosen. Hosting types →
The Odoo license depends on the number of users and apps (terms at odoo.com). The scope of BUline's work depends on the number of students, groups and clients, users, apps, customization, integrations, data volume and training. The exact cost and timeline are given in a written proposal after the free diagnostic.
During the diagnostic, we review your processes and tell you where standard Odoo is enough and where configuration is needed — with an app list, edition and phases.
